Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the Center’s overall training programs, aligning them with current research and innovations in social work.
  • Identify training needs across related organizations and prioritize them according to strategic goals.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including educational institutions, international organizations, and government agencies to develop collaborative training initiatives.
  • Work closely with other specialists at Columbia University.
  • Coordinate/assist in the development and implementation of training programs for social work educators and practitioners.
  • In collaboration with the CSSW team, contribute to developing and adapt training materials, including manuals, presentations, and online content.
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops, seminars, and exchange programs, including scheduling, materials preparation, and participant communication.
  • Support the evaluation and revision of educational curricula to ensure they meet the evolving needs of social work practice.
  • Engage with educational partners to foster relationships and collaborate on program development.
  • Document and report on educational activities, maintaining records for accreditation and continuous improvement.
  • Help facilitate mentoring and professional development sessions, ensuring alignment with best practices and professional standards.
  • Report to Director and Deputy Director on performed work, as well as proposals for future work plans.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field with a focus on adult education or training.
  • Experience in organizing and supporting educational programs, with a comprehensive understanding of instructional design.
  • Knowledge of current trends and challenges in social work education, particularly within a multicultural and international context.
  • Excellent coordination and facilitation skills, capable of managing educational events and participant interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, necessary for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other relevant management software.
  • Proven ability to produce reports and/or research papers with a good command of social protection issues.
  • Fluency in English is an asset.
