Translator/Front Desk Officer Assistant
Job Objective
To help and support with all translations : English/Uzbek/Russian.
To support the Receptionist when she is away from front desk/busy with meetings and support the Primary/Secondary School and MAC team.
GUIDELINES
Communications
- Support the Receptionist with all incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
- Greet in English, Russian and Uzbek
- Be polite and attentive
- Take name, phone number, email etc.
- Clearly convey message to appropriate staff via email immediately when message and/or enquiry is received
- The Reception Desk should not be left unattended at any given point
- Help with verbal and written translation when parents have meetings with Academic Staff, Heads of Primary and Secondary and Principal.
- Help colleagues to understand and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders (parents, students, partners).
- Ensure timely communication, responding to all parent contact within 24 hours during the working week.
- Spend quality time each day / week around the school, capturing formal events and the day to day life within the school. Aim to get content out on social media during the same day the images were taken.
- Get to know families through great questions and active listening.
- Build empathy and rapport with families.
- Translate content created within school for use across all school communication channels including News & Blogs and social media and third-party platforms.
Reception
- Greet all visitors, and direct them to appropriate areas of the school.
- Ask appropriate questions to capture required information from prospective families ensuring consistent attention to detail.
- Pass contact details for prospective families through to relevant Admissions team members in an accurate and timely manner.
- Identify and Report of any possible security concerns to the Head of Operations and/or Health and Safety Officer.
Administration
- Ensure that all relevant documents, forms, information materials etc, relating to the position of the Translator are appropriately filed, registered and organised.
- Support the DAM to develop a culture where the school engages as one and works to ensure admissions is a whole school responsibility
- Provide reasonable support to MAC when required.
Translation
- Help with the translation of documents and letters.
- Ensure high quality communication: language, tonality and structure.
- Maintain high levels of warmth and enthusiasm throughout all communications.
- Help with translation when parents meet staff who don’t speak Russian/Uzbek.
Other duties
- Help MAC Team with sending messages to parents and staff
- Help MAC Team with information about the school, school tours for new and prospective parents when and if needed.
- Support the MAC team through attendance at school recruitment events.
- Support Academic staff when events are planned and organised eg. Open Days, Parents’ Evenings, Activities, Summer and Winter Fairs etc .

Working hours Monday-Friday
- 7:45 -16:45
- Extra hours when needed for special events eg. Open Days, Parents Evenings etc.
