Summary

Career Development Officer is responsible for engaging with students, faculty, and employers to facilitate successful internship placements and career development. This role involves counseling students, collaborating with faculty to identify internship opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with employers to ensure high-quality placements. Additionally, the Career Development Officer organizes events, conducts professional development workshops, and performs data analysis to support departmental goals and initiatives.

1. Official Communication:
2. • Write official notes and letters: Draft formal notes, letters, and requests to employers, faculty and students regarding internship placements and opportunities.
   • Revise partnership memoranda: Assist department head in reviewing and revising memoranda internally.
   • Develop agreement items: Assist department head in developing agreement items between the university and partner companies.

1. Departmental Contributions:
   • Contribute to career development success: Assist in the development of departmental annual strategies and initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head.
   • Data analysis and reporting: Collect, analyze, and report data on internship placements, student outcomes and employer satisfaction. Use data analytics tools to generate and maintain reports.
   • Create collateral materials: Develop specifications for the marketing department.
   • Coordinate internal call-campaigns: coordinate department interns to facilitate regarding call-campaigns; write call campaign scripts.
   • Department interns’ coordination: onboard and mentor departmental interns matching their academic and professional learning outcomes.

1. Additional job responsibilities:
   • Career Counseling and advising: Provide one-on-one career counseling sessions to help students identify career goals and develop job search strategies.
   • Professional development workshops: Conduct workshops on application processes, leadership, and corporate communications.
   • Alumni engagement: assist in connecting with alumni for mentorship, networking, and homecoming events.
   • Industry research: Stay updated on industry trends and labor market information to provide relevant career advice and identify emerging internship opportunities.
   • Budget building: assist department head in budget building and budget allocation, as well as keeping budget books.

Qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in career counseling, student services or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and self-discipline.
  • Ability to draft and revise official documents, memoranda, and agreements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and employers.
  • Strong will to continuous learning.
  • Flexibility to travel for site visits and employer meetings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
