We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our Sales team.
The BDM will play a critical role in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong sales skills and an understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
The BDM will be responsible for driving growth by engaging with prospective clients and ensuring new business aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in identifying and capturing new business opportunities that drive growth and possibly innovation.
- Craft and execute dynamic sales strategies for engaging prospective clients, utilizing market research and lead generation techniques such as networking but also cold calling. In parallel building and nurturing long-term, meaningful relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across organizations.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to forge valuable connections with potential clients and partners.
- Deliver persuasive sales presentations, showcasing our company's unique capabilities and solutions. Partner for these sales presentations with cross-functional teams (operations, logistics, marketing) to create bespoke proposals tailored to client needs.
- Negotiate and secure new deals, ensuring they align perfectly with both client needs and our company’s goals.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of the competitive landscape, market trends, and shifting client needs to inform effective strategies.
- Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on market research and client feedback.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry.
- Deep understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building abilities, both with prospects as internal teams.
- A mindset with a heart for assessing market trends and uncovering customer needs.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and sales forecasting platforms to manage opportunities efficiently.
- Results-driven with a proven ability to exceed sales targets.
