Requirements:

10+ years (Experience in Civil & structural design aspects in
Substation / Power Distribution Projects in the field of Design and
Engineering, Knowledge and working experience with Uzbekistan
Local Codes like Gost ,KMK & SHNK)

Objective:
The Lead Design Engineer should be knowing thorough knowledge for the civil activities involved
in the AIS Substation with Voltage varying from 33kV -500kV.
He should be also well versed in all the Local codes Design, practices of Uzbekistan.
As the Design Lead – Civil & Structural, the person is required to strictly adhere to the schedule
of the ongoing projects. He shall also be responsible for review the drawing and document send
from remote engineering office and make required changes in discussion with Uzbekistan Local
Authority & Contractor smooth & timely completion of the designs, drawings and other
deliverables for the projects.
In addition, he shall be directly responsible for ensuring submission of deliverables, on time, to
the clients. The Design Lead shall be required to provide support for the engineering activities
covering the full cycle of works from pre-bid engineering to support during commissioning and
warranty periods and to extend support to site team.
She / He shall lead a team of Engineers and draftspersons to manage the Engineering activities
within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collecting inputs for project details (plot details, feeder arrangements etc.) from client &
Project Engineering Manager
• Collecting inputs for project details (General Arrangement Drawings) from Vendors
• Required to interact with other departments like Primary Engineering, Secondary
engineering, Project Management and Manufacture for fabrication drawing.

Preparing civil & structural deliverables such as buildings, Gantry, equipment structures,
drainage systems, Cable trenches, roads etc.
• Submission of requirement of man-hours for undertaking & reviewing of design &
drawings of the project
• Reviewing of BOQ and submission to contracts team and providing technical clarifications
• Reviewing of design & drawings, made by Design Engineers & Draughtsperson &
checking of design & calculations and obtaining approvals from the client.
• Coordination with multiple disciplines for ensuring inter-departmental checks.
• Providing support & clarifications to the Site Execution team
• Checking of pre-award evaluation of vendors (w.r.t. technical specifications requirement
of the client) and forwarding the validation document to Supply Chain Management
• Clarification of conflict w.r.t. the design & requirements of the client to the Site Execution
Team
Technical Expertise:
The Design Lead is required to have an overall knowledge on the following for a substation with
both local (KMK, GOST, SHINK) & international codes.
• Site Grading & Embankment Design
• Tower & Girder Design along with Foundation
• Outdoor equipment Supporting Structure Design & Foundations,
• RCC Substation Control room buildings,
• FFPH & Water tank Design
• Transformer foundations & firewall,
• Guard house,
• Steel Warehouse & O&M Buildings
• Roads and drainage,
• Miscellaneous works like Cable trench, Boundary wall etc related to the substations and
cabling works.
She / He is also required to have hands on experience of design Software viz. STAAD Pro.,
ETABs, AUTOCAD, REVITT & TEKLA, CONCISE BEAM, LIRA SAPR.
Design lead having experience in PV Tracker Foundation, invertor foundation, BESS & OHTL
Design for Civil & Structural requirements.
Good Knowledge in precast foundation based on local practice & standard catalogues will be
required.
The Design Lead should also have detailed knowledge of Substation equipment and their Layouts.
Furthermore, she / he should good knowledge in interdisciplinary activities and managing different
stake holders like Electrical, Mechanical etc.

Draughtsperson, Site Execution team & Supply Chain Management team
Externally: Clients (Site Execution & Engineering team), Consultants & Vendors

Software Skills Required:

Proficient in STAAD Pro., Awareness ETABs, SAP, AUTOCAD,
REVITT, TEKLA, CONCISE BEAM ,LIRA SAPR.LIRA
