The YouTube Performance Strategist plays a vital role in ensuring the successful publishing, optimization, and performance analysis of YouTube content. This position focuses on driving channel growth through expert-level optimization, data-driven strategies, and actionable insights.
The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of YouTube SEO with strong analytical skills to identify trends and provide feedback to enhance content performance. They will work closely with the team to align creative efforts with measurable goals, ensuring the channel achieves its full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Content Upload & Optimization
- Oversee the complete YouTube publishing process, ensuring all videos are uploaded with accurate metadata, scheduling, and platform best practices.
- Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to create SEO-optimized titles, descriptions, tags, and playlists that maximize discoverability.
- Collaborate on thumbnail designs to ensure alignment with audience preferences and YouTube trends.
- Implement strategies to keep content aligned with the latest YouTube algorithm updates and industry standards.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Regularly analyze YouTube Studio metrics such as audience retention, watch time, and click-through rates (CTR) to assess video and channel performance.
- Use data insights to inform content improvements, identify growth opportunities, and support long-term strategic goals.
- Prepare and present performance reports, highlighting key achievements, trends, and recommendations for optimization.
Content Strategy Development
- Identify and recommend content themes, formats, and trends based on audience behavior and performance data.
- Optimize publishing strategies, including video release schedules, formats, and promotional tactics, to maximize reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with the content creation team to align creative strategies with data-driven insights, ensuring cohesive execution across projects.
Market Research
- Monitor competitor channels and industry trends to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
- Stay informed on platform updates, tools, and emerging trends to keep the channel competitive and ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in YouTube content management, SEO, or analytics (2+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in YouTube Studio and related analytics tools.
- Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, keyword research, and metadata optimization.
- Ability to analyze performance data and create actionable strategies based on findings.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with video editing tools and basic graphic design for thumbnails.
- Understanding of YouTube monetization strategies and advertising campaigns.
- Experience with or knowledge of child-focused content and trends (if applicable to the department’s goals).
