Resposnibilities:

• Lead the analysis of social protection policies and programs.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve existing policies or develop new ones.
• Work closely with other center specialists at Columbia University.
• In collaboration with the Columbia School of Social Work team, support the development and execution of the research agenda by assisting in project design, data collection, and analysis.
• Collaborate with research groups and academic institutions to facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance research outcomes.
• Contribute to the writing and publication of research findings to disseminate knowledge within the academic and practical social work communities.
• Assist in organizing and conducting academic forums and workshops, facilitating discussions on social protection research.
• Maintain databases and records of research activities, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and research protocols.
• Stay updated with the latest research and trends in social protection.
• Support grаntwriting efforts by preparing documentation and supporting materials for funding applications.
• Lead/contribute to the identification of key areas of focus, including emerging issues in social protection.
• Report to the Director and Deputy Director on performed work, as well as proposals for future work plans.

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field with a focus on research methodologies.
• Experience in conducting social research, with skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of the social, economic, and cultural context of Uzbekistan, beneficial for contextualizing research.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, essential for collaborative work and documentation.
• Capability to work in a multicultural setting, understanding diverse perspectives and methodologies.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and other relevant management software.
• Proven ability to produce reports and/or research papers with a good command of social protection issues.
• Fluency in English is an asset
