In 2018, the team successfully introduced the pioneering neobank, Space, in Georgia. Building upon this success, subsequent efforts were directed towards the creation and launch of a fully digital bank in Uzbekistan, TBC UZ, in 2020.

In a significant move to strengthen its position in the Uzbek market, the Group acquired Payme, a leading local payments provider and a beloved brand among the Uzbek populace, in 2023.

Currently, a dedicated team of 1,700 professionals from 17 nationalities is advancing TBC’s international footprint. Space International spearheads the provision of cutting-edge technologies and world-class professional services, while local teams at Payme and TBC Uzbekistan ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced DataOps Engineer with a strong focus on on-premise data infrastructure and advanced data tooling. You will be instrumental in building and operating scalable, resilient, and automated data pipelines that power business-critical analytics, machine learning, and reporting systems. Your role will span the full data lifecycle—from ingestion to transformation to delivery—while ensuring the infrastructure is reliable, secure, and performance-optimized.

This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of big data technologies, orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and Kubeflow, and familiarity with Apache Spark, Databricks (on-prem/hybrid), and enterprise data platforms deployed in on-premise or hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads using tools like Apache Spark, Apache NiFi, and Airflow.
• Build and operationalize on-premises or hybrid big data platforms, including Databricks (private cloud/on-prem), Hadoop, or custom Spark clusters.
• Manage and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Integrate and orchestrate machine learning pipelines using tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, or custom scripts.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, and DBAs to ensure high data reliability and accessibility.
• Use infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to provision and manage data platform resources.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines and services using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
• Work closely with security teams to implement role-based access, encryption, and compliance controls across all data systems.
• Automate data validation, schema enforcement, and pipeline testing to improve quality and reliability.
• Provide operational support, incident response, and continuous improvement for data services.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in DataOps, Data Engineering, or DevOps roles in on-premise or hybrid data environments.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, and Databricks (preferably in private or hybrid deployments).
• Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash) and experience with Linux systems.
• Solid experience with SQL, relational databases, and large-scale data warehousing systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control systems (Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Experience with data orchestration, job scheduling, and workflow management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying Kubeflow or other MLOps platforms for training, validation, and model serving pipelines.
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem tools (HDFS, Hive, HBase), Kafka, or Flume for data ingestion and processing.
• Understanding of data governance, lineage, and cataloging (e.g., Apache Atlas, DataHub).
• Background in hybrid cloud environments (e.g., integrating on-prem systems with AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
